Immunology/Bioinformatic Post-Doctoral Positions
AMPEL BioSolutions
Charlottesville, VA
AMPEL BioSolutions has post-doctoral positions immediately available for newly minted PhDs in Immunology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics or related fields. AMPEL is looking for dynamic individuals interested in working in a collaborative “think-tank” setting to analyze and interpret “big data” sets (transcriptomic, proteomic, epigenetic, genomic) in order to find new drugs and drug targets for treatment of autoimmune disease. The successful applicant will work with AMPEL’s FunctionalAnalysis and Bioinformatics teams to identify key biological pathways and target genes using web accessible programs such as DAVID, STRING, REACTOME, Cytoscape and PubMed as well as proprietary analysis tools such as IPA (Ingenuity Pathway Analysis). Prior experience/knowledge in bioinformatics, applied mathematics or statistics is useful but not required. AMPEL’s environment requires the ability to work independently as well to cultivate productive collaborations. Contributions to the peer-reviewed literature are expected.
AMPEL provides the opportunity to learn cutting-edge research techniques and work collectively with scientists from several top research universities throughout the country. Successful applicants will have excellent written/verbal communication skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint). No postdoctoral or industry experience is required but a strong publication record is desired.
