The MMRF invites applications for a post-doctoral position in vaccinology in the laboratory of Marco Pravetoni, an Assistant Professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, Departments of Pharmacology and Medicine (http://www.micab.umn.edu/faculty/Pravetoni.html). MMRF is the third largest medical research non-profit in Minnesota and ranks in the top seven percent nationally of all institutions receiving research grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH). MMRF is an excellent environment for training in cutting-edge research in vaccinology supported by a highly collaborative scientific community including the University of
Minnesota Center for Immunology and the Masonic Cancer Center.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
A post-doc position is available immediately for individuals interested in vaccinology. Projects will focus on therapeutic vaccines for substance use disorders, and other challenging targets that require the highest serum antibody levels for clinical efficacy, such as emerging infectious diseases, and agents of bioterrorism or chemical warfare. Projects will leverage a multidisciplinary approach to rational vaccine design, evaluation of the immunological mechanisms underlying effective immunization, programming vaccine-induced germinal center formation, and in vivo screening in relevant pre-clinical models. This position will be compensated based on NIH guidelines for post-doctoral roles.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking an independent and motivated colleague interested in leading multidisciplinary projects. A recently-graduated PhD in biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences is required. The candidate will possess experience in some of the following areas: vaccine development, bioconjugation or equivalent chemistry, flow cytometry analysis of antigen-specific B or T cells, FACS paired to expression analysis or sequencing approaches, or other relevant research techniques.
