Post-doctoral Research Fellow – Genetic Engineering of B Cells
Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Seattle, WA
A post-doctoral research fellow position is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Justin Taylor in the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. The Taylor lab aims to inform vaccine design by gaining a deeper understanding about the mechanisms limiting the generation of a protective B cell response. The fellow will focus on genetic engineering of murine and human B cells, employing innovative molecular techniques. The candidate must be responsible, organized, and self-motivated, and able to efficiently manage time and experiments.
To be considered, candidates should have:
- A PhD in molecular biology, immunology, or a related field
- Extensive experience with molecular biology and cutting-edge genetic engineering techniques, including CRISPR
- Willingness to work with human cells, murine models, and biohazardous/infectious agents (BSL2+) under carefully controlled conditions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a laboratory team
The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual, with a willingness to take up new skills and responsibilities, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.
