- Doctorate degree & at least 2 years of scientific experience or more depending on position level, or
- Master’s degree & 6-8 years of scientific experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctoral and post-doctoral training in immuno-oncology, immunology, oncology or cell biology
- Experience in a biotech setting is desirable although not required.
- Proven expertise in human and mouse immunological assays, biochemical and cell signaling approaches, imaging techniques, complex cell-based assays and relevant experimental models.
- Demonstrated track record of independent critical thinking and scientific achievement in research, exemplified by a strong publication record
- Excellent skills in written and oral communication, organization and multitasking, and working in a highly collaborative and cross-functional research environment.

The candidate will be responsible for performing the laboratory based studies to generate the nonclinical proof-of-concept datasets, enable IND submissions and identify potential PD/biomarkers to support any translational studies that may be required to facilitate product clinical development. The candidate is expected to support collaborative projects, provide experimental design expertise, conduct data analysis for in vitro and in potentially vivo studies, and provide regular research progress report(s), both written and oral, and manuscript generation as appropriate.
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following: • Lead or Work within a matrixed project team to provide preclinical rationale that supports moving lead clinical candidate for various therapeutic indications toward early development and testing of clinical hypotheses. • Explore mechanism of action, combinatorial therapeutic strategies, and elucidate translational correlates predictive of therapeutic response in Phase 1 clinical studies. • Independently design and implement long-term project plans and appropriate experiments that define efficacy and mechanism of action of the potential clinical candidate via genetic, protein and function-based in vitro assessments. Provide recommendations for, and implement studies and strategies that demonstrate the potential clinical utility through pertinent in vivo studies. • Identify and engage external experts and key opinion leaders to facilitate external assessment or collaborative opportunities to evaluate clinical candidates. • Represent the Research & Development Group in Project team/Franchise team, or other cross-functional teams as needed. • Provide scientific progress reports (or presentations) to the Director and/or Senior Management as required. • Prepare IND format documentation and / or reports based on scientific results as required. • Creates SOW and interfaces with CRO for execution of services as needed. • Provide scientific leadership to the research team, as well as, create and track achievable goals for the project team that are aligned with company goals/objectives.
