Senior Postdoctoral Associate

The position of a senior postdoctoral research associate is available in the laboratory of Dr. Barbara Nikolajczyk at Boston University School of Medicine to work on a cell and molecular biology based project in the growing field of immunometabolism: the role immune cell-mediated inflammation plays in obesity, and the role shifts in nutrients that occur in obesity impact immune cell function. The lab focuses mainly on analysis of humans and human cells, with complementary mouse work to test concepts in the complex physiology of an in vivo system. Work also includes understanding the role of confounding inflammatory disease, as modeled by periodontal disease, in obesity/type 2 diabetes pathogenesis. See B.S. The successful candidate should have a doctoral degree in either immunology or metabolism.

While the the ideal candidate would have 3-5 years experience, other candidates will also be considered.
