Ground Transportation

Seattle-Tacoma (Sea-Tac) International Airport is the largest airport in the Pacific Northwest region of the US. The airport is approximately 12 miles south of downtown Seattle, and is the primary airport for the Seattle metropolitan area.

There are several options for getting to/from the airport and downtown Seattle.

Shared ride airport transportation between SeaTac and Seattle’s Central Business District is $15.99 one way, $30.38 round trip when booked together. Guests with prearranged arrival reservations are greeted in SeaTac’s baggage claim area by an agents holding a sign with their name then directed to their waiting shuttle. Link Light Rail makes trips between the airport station and downtown Seattle from 5 AM to 1 AM Monday through Saturday (the last train departs the airport at 12:10 AM) and from 6 AM to midnight Sunday (the last train departs the airport at 11:05 PM). Trains depart every 7.5 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day. The trip between Sea-Tac Airport and downtown Seattle is about 34 minutes. The closest stop to Washington State Convention Center is Westlake Center. Fares for adults range from $2.50 to $3.25. Pay at ticketing machine prior to boarding. King County Metro Transit and Sound Transit buses provide affordable transportation options within Seattle, to and from nearby communities, and to and from the airport. Find routes and stops online or by downloading the OneBusAway app (onebusaway.org – under Puget Sound). Fares for adults range from $2.50 to $3.25. Pay fare when boarding, exact change only. Taxis are available at Sea-Tac Airport on the third floor of the parking garage. One-way rides between the airport and downtown are approximately $40, depending on the destination.

Within Seattle, ride-sharing companies (Sidecar (side.cr), Lyft (lyft.me), and Uber (uber.com)) offer in-city transportation from local drivers. All rides can be scheduled using smartphone apps.
